Who we are?

Lotcop Inc. is a Canadian security solutions provider with a head office located in Markham, Ontario, Canada. Founded in 2004 by Carlo Di Leo, Lotcop designs, installs, and services security systems for large corporations, businesses, commercial properties, and construction sites across Canada. Carlo Di Leo is Lotcop’s Chief Privacy Officer.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We only collect information about you if we have a reason to do so—for example, to provide our Services, to communicate with you, or to make our Services better. We collect this information from three sources: if and when you provide information to us, automatically through operating our Services, and from outside sources.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on our site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it.

The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Contact forms

You may be asked to provide personal data to Lotcop for us to respond to your questions or requests. This includes information in your message which may contain personal data. We register the personal data you provide in the contact form, such as your first/last name, email address, company name, and phone number, for the purpose of processing your enquiry as a visitor of the website.

Without any of this information, Lotcop would not be able to respond to your request. The personal data we request in our contact forms are minimized to the relevant data required for its purpose. Still, we may ask for your consent to use your data for other purposes such as marketing activities (see our information below under “Consent”). If you agree to receive our products, Lotcop will use your personal data to contact you for marketing similar services and products.

Job applicant information

If you apply for a job with us, you may provide us with information like your name, contact information, resume or CV, and work authorization verification as part of the application process.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year. If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Analytics

Google cookies allow us to count visits and traffic sources to measure and improve the performance of our site and provide you with personalized marketing content. They help us to know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around the site, and build better user experiences for our users. If you do not allow these cookies, we will not know when you have visited our site and will not be able to monitor its performance. Further, we will not be able to provide you with personalized marketing material.

Information We Collect from Other Sources

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Third-Party Login: If you create or log in to your WordPress.com account through another service (like Google) we’ll receive associated login information (e.g. a connection-token, your username, your email address).
Social Sharing Services: If you connect your website or account to a social media service (like Twitter) through our Publicize feature, we’ll receive information from that service (e.g., your username, basic profile information, friends list) via the authorization procedures for that service.

Who we share your data with

Knowledge and consent of an individual are required for information collection. The collection of information is limited to that which is necessary to carry out the purposes identified by Lotcop.

How and why we use information

We use personal data to respond to your requests or contact you via mail, email, or phone to fulfill your request or provide service communications. We will also use personal data to help us develop and improve our website, services, content, advertising, including through auditing and data analysis, statistics, surveys, research purposes, and other lawful processing for our reasonable business purposes.

We use information about you for the purposes listed below:

Marketing: We use the information for marketing purposes, such as to market our Services and measure, gauge, and improve the effectiveness of our marketing efforts.

What rights you have over your data

If you have left comments on our site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Inquiries may be shared with sales staff.

When you contact us

Consent

We may ask for your consent to allow Lotcop to contact you to keep you posted on Lotcop’s latest announcements or receive our free newsletter or other marketing activities. You will find consent forms when using our website. We will use your email address and other personal data you provide for these marketing activities and for uses as stated in this Privacy Policy. If you do not want to be on our mailing list for one or more marketing activities, you can opt-out anytime by updating your preferences or withdraw your consent by contacting us.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can automatically recognize and approve any follow-up comments instead of holding them in a moderation queue. If you fill out a contact form, we will store your personal data while you receive our marketing material and up to six (6) months after you have ceased to be a potential customer for our marketing purposes.
